I got to draw pin up model Mosh Fredsaft at Dr. Sketchy's on the Queen Mary during Ink-N-Iron today! This is not my sketch. In fact, I did not like either of them, but I did photograph one of the poses she did and really loved it so much, I just had to share.
The festival was a ton of fun. Full of inspiration and fun. I am so glad I went! Escorted my date, Janet Vice of the South County Derby Girls, to the event too. Had too much fun in the sun, but it was worth every bit of the burn.

Below is a quick photo of what I've been working on for the "Forest, fairies and mulberries" show this coming weekend. She still needs some color, but she's nearly complete.
Myself and the dead fairy

  1. Hi Ashley!

I found your blog via Illustration Friday, and your yummy looking cupcake post. I love your art!

I actually remember your Dead Fairy Girl portrait (the one you're holding above) from the "Forests, Faeries, and Mulberries" show, since I was in it too. A couple of my pieces were in the same room as yours, and yours is one of the main ones I remember from the show (-: So, hello again, as I don't think I met you in person at the opening.

Hope all is well, and keep up the lovely paintings and drawings!

  2. Hi Donna!

Well hello darling! I'm so sorry I haven't responded sooner! I don't usually check old posts. I think my alert system is turned off, so I gotta change that.

It's so nice to hear from another artist I've shown work with! Sad I wasn't able to actually go to that event. Had a baby shower that same day. I was torn because I had fairy wings and everything. :) It sounded like a blast, but hopefully we will be doing another show together soon! Well eventually. I'm going to be out of commission for a while with baby on her way in less than a month. :-p Once I'm adjusted there, I'll figure it out. But keep in touch for sure!
